Vietnam Airport Reopens to Help Da Lat Tourism

The provincial government announced a plan to promote tourism on July 21 after the airport reopened.

After August 19, Lien Khuong Airport will have 36 to 40 flights and 6,800 passengers per day. This is nearly 1,000 more than before it closed for repairs. The airport expects 816,000 passengers from August to December 2026.

Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and other airlines will start flights from Da Lat to big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on August 19.

There will be 7 to 8 flights per day from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Lien Khuong Airport will also be an important gateway to the Central Highlands.

The flight from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur will start again on September 2 with 4 flights per week. The province is also working to start flights to other countries like South Korea and Japan.

Before it closed, the airport had many passengers from domestic and international flights. These flights brought many visitors to Da Lat and helped the local economy.

Da Lat is often foggy at night.

The government plans to make Da Lat more attractive to tourists after the airport reopens.

Tourism companies will work with airlines to offer package deals that include flights, hotels, and tours. The province will also promote holidays and local experiences.

Businesses are asked not to increase prices too much so that Da Lat remains a friendly destination.

By the end of 2026, the province hopes to have new domestic flights and international markets to help tourism recover.
