US Revokes Over 175,000 Visas from Foreign Nationals

The US government has revoked visas from foreigners who broke the law, committed crimes, or threatened national security.

Most visas were taken away after police encounters, often due to crimes like assault or theft.

The government gave examples of people charged with serious crimes like rape, kidnapping, and child abuse.

A US embassy in North Africa took away over 100 visas from parents who came to the US to have babies and get US citizenship for them.

In January, the US said it had already revoked over 100,000 visas, which was a record at the time.

The US is being very strict about immigration, and many people, even those with valid visas, are being deported.

The government is also being more careful about who it gives visas to, with stricter checks on social media and more screening.
