How Tripadvisor Picks Its Best of the Best Restaurants

Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice “Best of the Best” awards are given to fewer than 1% of the more than 8 million restaurants on the site. To qualify, a restaurant must receive a large number of high‑scoring reviews from travellers during a set period.

For the 2026 awards, Tripadvisor looked at reviews and ratings collected from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. After the data collection, an editorial team reviewed the results to decide the final list.

Vietnam had five restaurants on the list last year. This year, four of them – The Soul Restaurant in Hoi An, November Restaurant & Sky Bar and Khue Restaurant in Hanoi, and Lai Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City – were removed.

Only Rhythms Restaurant in Hanoi stayed on the 2026 list, ranking second behind Koma Singapore. Its position shows it met the high review volume and editorial standards that Tripadvisor uses.

Understanding this process helps travellers see why some restaurants earn the prestigious title and why others, even well‑known ones, may lose it.
