Education New Zealand says Vietnamese students can apply for 2027 scholarships at all eight public universities in New Zealand. The combined undergraduate awards can be worth up to about US$28,500, which can lower the cost of studying abroad.
The University of Otago offers the highest value, allowing eligible students to combine awards worth up to NZ$50,000 (about US$28,500). Other universities also give help: the University of Auckland up to NZ$20,000, Auckland University of Technology up to NZ$10,000, the University of Canterbury up to NZ$29,000 for Commerce students, and Victoria University of Wellington up to NZ$25,000.
Some scholarships are automatically assessed and have no limit on the number of awards for Vietnamese students who already have an offer of admission. Applicants may use their first‑ or second‑semester Grade 12 results, or predicted IB/A‑levels, and ENZ advises them to apply early to finish admission steps before the July intake.
In short, Vietnamese students can receive up to US$28,500 in undergraduate scholarships for 2027 if they meet the criteria and apply early. This financial help can make studying in New Zealand much more affordable.
