U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Jennifer Wicks pledged to strengthen economic cooperation, defence and security collaboration, and war‑legacy resolution during her tenure. She said a top priority is promoting economic cooperation and a more balanced trade relationship, hoping U.S. businesses will gain greater access to the Vietnamese market.

Ho Chi Minh City is transforming its economy, using science, technology and innovation as new growth drivers, and is developing an international financial centre. The city is also focusing on training highly skilled workers and hopes more U.S. businesses will invest in high‑technology, semiconductor chips, finance and clean‑energy sectors.

The U.S. Coast Guard cutter USCGC Bertholf visited Ho Chi Minh City, showing stronger defence and maritime security ties. Joint work has already helped recover almost 1,000 sets of fallen Vietnamese soldiers’ remains.

If these plans succeed, Vietnamese professionals and students could find more jobs in high‑tech, finance and clean‑energy companies, and benefit from training programmes linked to U.S. partners. The expanding partnership therefore promises real career and business chances for the next generation.
