A new electric submersible called Jiaozi lets tourists see the ocean without learning to dive. It can go down 200 meters, so you can watch sea life from a safe cabin.
China News Service reported that the Jiaozi electric‑powered craft can dive 200 meters and has a viewing window for passengers. Nanfang Daily said it also has automatic obstacle‑avoidance and emergency surfacing systems, so no specialist training is needed.
A company representative said the submersible is working at attractions in Sanya, Chongqing and Bali, offering both daytime and nighttime underwater trips. Nanfang Daily reported that more than 30 units have been delivered to Hainan, Guangxi and Indonesia, and Indonesian orders are close to 100.
Chinese engineers are developing another tourist submersible that can reach 1,000 meters, and the China Ship Scientific Research Centre plans to start commercial service by 2030. This shows the market is growing fast.
