After a devastating flood in late 2025, the ward of Tay Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province introduced a digital map to streamline evacuations and rescue missions. The tool shows how technology can turn a chaotic emergency into a coordinated response.
The map records a total of 90 critical sites: 51 designated evacuation points, 24 high‑risk flood zones and 15 rescue stations. Each location is represented by a distinct colour—green for safe shelters, red for dangerous areas, and blue for rescue bases—so users can instantly recognise the status of any spot.
Residents open the map simply by scanning a QR code or by selecting a link in the Zalo app, which redirects them to Google Maps. The interface then displays the colour‑coded markers and offers turn‑by‑turn navigation to the chosen point.
When a user taps a marker, a pop‑up window reveals the site’s name, exact address and the phone number of the responsible official or rescue team. This detailed information lets residents contact the right authority instantly, even if the broader network is unstable.
The map is not static; ward authorities cooperate with the local military command and neighbourhood groups to keep the data current. These bodies regularly verify the status of each point and instruct citizens on how to interpret and use the map during an emergency.
