Great Wealth Trading Service Co. Ltd. is sponsoring the construction of two pedestrian overpasses across Ton Duc Thang Street in Ho Chi Minh City. The project is important because it will change how people reach the Saigon River waterfront and the renovated Ba Son piers.
The entire construction, management and operating cost is being funded by Great Wealth under a public‑private partnership build‑transfer contract, meaning the city will not pay anything for the work. This financing model lets the company take full responsibility for delivering the overpasses.
The two overpasses will link directly to the Saigon River waterfront and the renovated Ba Son piers B and C, and they will join the pedestrian bridge across the river. This connection will give walkers a safe, traffic‑free route to the riverside.
Without the overpasses, residents and visitors would have to cross Ton Duc Thang Street at street level, which is inconvenient and creates traffic safety risks and congestion, especially when the river bridge attracts many visitors. The company says the overpasses will be finished and opened before the 2027 Lunar New Year.
In summary, the new overpasses will make crossing Ton Duc Thang Street safer and more convenient, while improving access to the city’s riverside attractions. Their completion before the 2027 Lunar New Year should bring immediate benefits to daily commuters and tourists alike.
