Vietnam’s under‑17 national team began a final training camp in Dubai on 6 November. The camp focuses on tactics, fitness and getting used to the heat before the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar. Coach Cristiano Roland hopes the work will help the team go beyond the group stage.
Dubai’s weather is hot, with temperatures from 25 °C to 36 °C. Training in this heat helps the players slowly adapt to the climate they will meet in Qatar. The staff says this will make the players more comfortable during the tournament.
Coach Cristiano Roland reduced the squad from 28 to 25 players before arriving in Dubai. He will cut four more players to reach a final 21‑player roster for the World Cup. The training stresses speed, agility, technical skill, quick passing, decisive decisions and positional discipline, so the team can face physically stronger opponents.
On 9 November the team will play a friendly against Fiji U17. Coach Roland will use the match to assess form and make the last squad decisions before traveling to Doha on 10 November.
The Dubai camp gives Vietnam’s U17 side a chance to adjust to heat, sharpen key skills and choose the best players. These steps are meant to prepare the team for success at the 2026 World Cup.
