The Formula 1 race runs from Oct. 2‑4, and the airport expects a big increase in travelers.

MAHB Group Managing Director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani said the race offers a chance to boost passenger and tourist traffic through the airport.

Malaysia's Immigration Department estimated that up to 300,000 foreign visitors could arrive for the event.

Malaysia Airlines recommends arriving at least three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic flights.

The airline also asks passengers to monitor traffic and road‑closure updates from the Royal Malaysia Police and to consider alternative routes when needed.

Passengers are encouraged to use the KLIA Ekspres train service to reach the airport during the F1 weekend.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport served 5.2 million passengers in August, a 3.8% rise from the previous month.

For the first eight months of the year, the airport handled nearly 42 million passengers.
