At the World Travel Awards ceremony on September 27, the Philippines won Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Leading Island Destination and Leading Dive Destination, marking its third consecutive beach title.

With more than 36,000 km of coastline and over 7,000 islands, the Philippines offers a tropical climate, coral reefs, historic shipwrecks and clear warm waters that make its beaches and dive sites world‑class.

Beach tourism is a major part of the economy. From January to August, 4.11 million foreign visitors arrived, a 3.7 % rise from last year, helped by better flight connections and tourism marketing campaigns.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993 and often called the “Oscars of the travel industry,” select winners through votes from travel‑industry professionals and the public, highlighting the Philippines’ strong reputation among experts and travelers.
