The F1 race weekend brings many visitors to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Travelers can use special transport options to move more easily.
KLIA Ekspres offers a Sepang Race Train Pass that costs RM200 (US$49) and gives six trips between Terminal 2 and KL Sentral during the race weekend.
From Oct. 2 to 4, a free Rapid Kuala Lumpur shuttle runs every 10‑15 minutes from 7 a.m. to midnight, linking Terminal 2, Bandar Baru Enstek and Mitsui Outlet Park.
At Terminal 2, board the shuttle at Level 1 bus hub, bays B1‑B3. Another shuttle also stops at the airport’s long‑term car park.
Travelers can also use Grab, taxis or KLIA limousines, but demand is expected to be high around the circuit, especially before and after the main race, so allow extra time.
Malaysia’s Immigration Department estimates up to 300,000 foreign visitors could arrive for the event.
KLIA handled 5.2 million passengers in August, a 3.8% rise from the previous month, and nearly 42 million passengers in the first eight months of the year.
