The four properties include the 215‑room The Ritz‑Carlton in Putrajaya, the 173‑room W Langkawi, and two 250‑room Aloft hotels – one in Sepang and another in Johor Baru Plentong. They are expected to open in either 2030 or 2032, according to The Edge Malaysia.
Lee Yeow Seng, IOI Properties’ group CEO, said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of developing integrated projects that create economic and social value for local communities.
"The signing of the four hotels cements our position as a significant hospitality owner, bringing the total number of hotels owned by the group and managed by Marriott to 15," he added, as quoted by The Star.
IOI Properties plans to expand its hospitality portfolio across Malaysia, Singapore and China to a total of 4,648 rooms by 2032, showing a clear long‑term growth ambition.
In August, the group reported record revenue of RM4.44 billion for the 2026 financial year and a net profit of RM2.15 billion, more than double the previous year’s profit. It also secured regulatory approval to list a REIT backed by nine properties valued at RM7.58 billion.
These new hotels not only increase the number of rooms under IOI’s control but also promise jobs, tourism spending and community facilities, reinforcing the company’s strategy of delivering both economic returns and social benefits.
