Sass Jordan, a Montreal‑raised rock singer, died at 65; the cause of death has not been released.
Jordan’s music career lasted almost four decades, making her a well‑known name in Canadian rock.
She released her first album, *Tell Somebody*, in 1988 and won the 1989 Juno Award for most promising female vocalist. Her second album, *Racine*, came out in 1992 and gave fans hits such as “Make You a Believer.”
Jordan was nominated several times for the Juno Award for best female vocalist and served as a judge on all six seasons of the TV show *Canadian Idol*.
In 2020 she recorded *Rebel Moon Blues* and in 2022 she released *Bitches Blues*, both made with her husband Derek Sharp.
Geoff Kulawick, former president of Stony Plain Records, said Jordan was one of the few women in rock who helped make space for other women in a male‑dominated genre.
