The final batch of the Well‑Being Circles will finish in November. Eighty‑four people, aged 18 to 80, are taking part in what will be the programme’s last run.
The initiative began five years ago as an eight‑week series, meeting every Saturday. Over its life it reached more than 1,000 participants, each committing to eight consecutive Saturdays.
Co‑founder Sherman Ho explained that many people now struggle to find eight free Saturdays. “We realised that participants nowadays find it harder and harder to commit,” he said, adding that the team is rethinking the format for shorter sessions.
During the pandemic the programme moved online and then to smaller, more intimate groups. Ho observed that these tighter circles helped participants engage more deeply, making the sessions more effective.
Looking ahead, the Happiness Initiative plans to redesign the Well‑Being Circles into condensed formats – possibly two or three weekends, or even a single weekend – while keeping the core skills and reflections.
