The Korea Sound Journey took place on Oct. 2, 2026 in Seoul. People from more than 20 countries – including China, Japan, the United States and Thailand – joined the event.
Visitors entered an online sound quiz on KTO’s VISITKOREA YouTube channel. Winners earned a chance to meet actor Park Bo‑gum.
The visitors were split into eight groups. Each group walked through Changgyeonggung Palace with sound guides and recorded the noises they heard around them.
The recordings were played back at the traditional house Hwiggyeomjae. After listening, the groups took part in a sound quiz.
Park Bo‑gum, now in his second year as honorary ambassador for Korean tourism, joined the second session. He talked about the “Begin to Hear Korea” promotional film.
The “Begin to Hear Korea” film was released in July. It shows subway announcements, the bustle of traditional markets and wind bells hanging under hanok eaves.
KTO president Park Seong‑hyeok said the organization will keep creating travel experiences that let visitors remember Korea through its sounds, atmosphere and daily life.
