On October 8, 2026, farm owner Bun Chan Virak opened a waterslide for pigs at Keat Farm in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia. The slide was built as a way to help the animals stay cool.
Pigs cannot sweat, so they get hot easily. To cool them, the farm installed sprinklers that keep the slide wet. Ducks swim beside the pigs as they slide into the water.
The pigs line up, walk up a ramp, and slide into a pool. After they swim, they receive a special treat. If they do not swim, they still get their regular food.
Videos of the pigs sliding quickly spread on social media. The clips attracted many visitors to the farm, but some online users questioned whether the activity is good for the pigs.
The slide shows a creative way to cool pigs that cannot sweat, but it also reminds us to consider animal welfare when using entertainment ideas on farms.
