The ministry introduced the ‘Vietnamese Sounds – Melodies of Life’ program to gradually create a national sound archive and an interactive music map. It matters because it opens a digital space for anyone who loves Vietnamese music.
The program offers three digital activities: the Vietnam Sound Quiz, the Vietnam Sound Experience, and the Vietnamese Sound Innovation. Each invites participants to submit short videos or audio works that showcase Vietnamese melodies, stories or creative sound designs.
Participants keep the copyright and the rights to exploit their works. Organizers said that, if the initiative succeeds, creators could earn money from their contributions, but no guarantee is given.
Submissions are open from October 12 through November 30 2026, and the results and awards are expected in December 2026. Eligible works may be featured on the Vietnam Melody Bank platform, which will be linked to the Music Map.
The overall aim is to preserve Vietnam’s musical heritage, foster creativity and develop cultural industries by building the Vietnam Melody Bank and the Music Map. For creators and music lovers, the program offers a way to share, protect and possibly profit from Vietnamese sounds.
