Vietnam is preparing for the 2027 Asian Cup. Coach Kim Sang Sik must choose players while dealing with injuries and a suspension, so his decisions are very important to fans.

Kim will miss three naturalized players – Nguyen Xuan Son, Do Hoang Hen and Nguyen Tai Loc – because they are injured. They may also miss the Asian Cup. In addition, Nguyen Dinh Bac cannot play the first two group games because of an AFC suspension. The team also lacks enough forwards, so Kim may call back Nguyen Tien Linh and Pham Tuan Hai.

From November 9 to 17, Vietnam will train in a friendly camp and play Taiwan (China) and Kyrgyzstan. The camp lets Kim see how players are performing, try new options and fine‑tune the squad. Young players such as Quang Vinh, Luong Chi Khai (Kyle Colonna) and several U23 members are being watched for a chance to join the team.

Because of injuries, a suspension and a lack of forwards, Kim is likely to bring back familiar faces and also test new talent. The friendly camp will decide who will travel to the Asian Cup.
