France Football organised a special B.O.A.T. (Ballon d'Or of All Time) poll to celebrate the award’s 70th anniversary. The poll asked fans to choose the most outstanding season among multiple‑time Ballon d’Or winners, making the outcome especially interesting for football followers.

The vote was open only to fans and each ballot cost €1. Participants could submit an unlimited number of ballots, and many chose to vote several times.

During the 2007‑2008 campaign, the 23‑year‑old Ronaldo scored 42 goals in 49 matches for Manchester United. He helped United secure both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, and his 31 league goals earned him the Golden Boot in England and Europe.

When the poll closed, Ronaldo’s 2008 season captured 62 % of the total vote, while Messi’s 2012 season managed only 13 % and Ronaldo’s own 2023 season received 9 %. The final results reflect massive fan support rather than a professional assessment, amplified by the unlimited‑vote system.

Therefore, the ranking shows the power of a fan‑only voting method rather than an expert evaluation. The B.O.A.T. title does not confer an additional Ballon d’Or. The result highlights how a standout season combined with a fan‑driven poll can shape perceptions of football greatness.
