Vietnamese electric ride‑hailing company Green SM has started a new service in Los Angeles. This move shows how a local startup can reach a big overseas market.

Green SM launched its service in Los Angeles using VinFast VF 8 electric cars. The launch is the company’s ninth market and its first in North America. All U.S. cars are VinFast VF 8 models.

Green SM is a subsidiary of Vingroup and was founded in 2023. CEO Hoang Thanh Hang said that entering the American market is an important milestone in the company’s international expansion strategy. The firm plans to grow its network, invest in more vehicles and technology, and hire local drivers.

The Los Angeles launch shows that Vietnam’s tech firms can compete in the global electric‑vehicle ride‑hailing market. It also gives Green SM a chance to prove its service quality and build trust with new customers.
