Nintendo Co. will open its first restaurant, called Super Family Restaurant, next month at the new Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture. The restaurant mixes famous video games with real food, so it is a fun place to visit.
The restaurant has 80 seats and a statue of Link from The Legend of Zelda inside the dining area. It will first welcome a limited number of customers in November, then open fully about a month later, and only museum visitors can eat there.
The menu is inspired by Nintendo games. It offers red and green pasta for Mario and Luigi, and a large platter for three to four people with roast pork and hamburger steaks arranged like a video‑game stage journey. Media representatives saw these dishes in a preview.
Nintendo’s Super Family Restaurant shows how the company can turn its game worlds into a real‑life dining experience. Visitors will be able to taste the games while they look at the museum exhibits.
