Police in Da Nang City rescued two foreign tourists who were lost in a forest. The story shows why travelers must be careful in Vietnam’s natural areas.
The tourists were Austin Vasquez, 31, from the United States, and Matty Geppert, 36, from Germany, according to Ba Na Commune police. They entered the area near Hang Gio Stream to camp and lost their way.
Da Nang police said the search lasted more than a day and they found the pair near the stream with only minor injuries. The police also said the area has complex natural terrain and can be risky.
Police advised visitors not to explore the area without a guide who knows the terrain, to research routes carefully, to follow instructions from responsible personnel, and to avoid traveling alone. Following these steps can keep travelers safe in Vietnam’s forests.
