The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched the Vietnam Cultural Industries Development Network and announced 17 cultural development initiatives for 2026. This move is important because it aims to turn cultural ideas into real products and jobs.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh said the network should connect people with ideas to those with technology, capital, and markets, fostering joint product development. By linking creators with investors, the network creates a clear route from concept to market.
In 2026, cooperation groups are expected to focus on bringing products to market, generating business revenue, increasing creators’ incomes, and expanding public access to cultural experiences. These goals directly target young artists and designers who want stable earnings from their work.
The 17 initiatives include a digital cultural data repository, a cultural industries marketplace, gaming projects that bring Vietnamese history into modern games, and AI‑driven tourism platforms. Each project offers new technical roles, marketing jobs, and revenue streams for creators and tech specialists alike.
The network is expected to mobilise social resources and contribute at least 7% of GDP by 2030. If the plan succeeds, Vietnam’s cultural sector will become a major source of jobs and income for the next generation of creators.
