Da Nang’s military command has tested new drones that can lift 80‑120 kg and motorized inflatable boats. These tools could change how quickly help reaches people during floods and landslides.
The equipment was purchased to help rescue teams reach residents affected by floods and landslides, according to Da Đà Nẵng’s military command. During the trials, personnel inspected the equipment and checked assembly procedures. The trials also assessed mobility, cargo‑carrying capacity, stability and safety before the devices are put into service.
Da Đà Nẵng’s military command said the drones are expected to deliver food, drinking water, medicine and other essentials to communities cut off by floods and landslides. Motorized inflatable boats will help rescue teams reach heavily flooded residential areas, transport personnel and equipment, and evacuate residents from dangerous spots. Combining the boats with cargo‑carrying drones should expand rescue teams’ reach and speed up supply delivery.
The initiative is part of modernising civil defence equipment for Da Đà Nẵng’s armed forces. It aims to strengthen their response to increasingly complex floods and other natural disasters.
