Indonesia won the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup final against Thailand on 5 October 2026. The victory was dramatic and gave the team its first Southeast Asian championship. This article shows how the win changed player values.
According to Bolasport, Indonesia’s naturalized players took six of the ten spots for the biggest value increases among Southeast Asian players. The list is based on Transfermarkt data.
Center‑back Elkan Baggott’s value rose six‑fold, from €200,000 to €1.2 million. Goalkeeper Maarten Paes added €500,000, reaching about €2 million. Other naturalized players – Nathan Tjoe‑A‑On, Justin Hubner, Luke Vickery and Joey Pelupessy – also saw their values go up.
The case shows that a single tournament win can quickly boost the market value of footballers, especially those who help their team succeed. Indonesia’s naturalized squad is a clear example.
