Southeast Asia is making a splash on the global bar scene, securing five spots in the prestigious World's 50 Best Bars list. The region’s success shows how local creativity can compete with the world’s most famous venues.

According to the World's 50 Best Bars list, Thailand leads the region with three entries while Singapore has two. Bangkok’s Bar Us achieved the highest regional rank at No. 4 overall. Opened in 2023 by Taln Rojanavanich and Aum Sawaengsupt, the venue applies design concepts to mixology and structures its menu like a multi‑course meal.

Singapore’s top representative, Jigger & Pony, is placed at No. 18. The bar was founded 14 years ago by Indra Kantono and Guo Yi Gan, and it follows a philosophy of “warm and accessible hospitality.” Its location in the Amara Hotel lobby adds to its welcoming atmosphere.

The remaining regional spots are held by Dry Wave Cocktail Studio at No. 27, BKK Social Club at No. 30, and Nutmeg & Clove at No. 38. Dry Wave Cocktail Studio, founded in 2024 by Supawit ‘Palm’ Muttarattana and Niwarin ‘Ae’ Phlainoi, explores the contrast between stillness and movement in its drinks. BKK Social Club, managed by Philip Bischoff, is known for a broad selection of spirits and craft cocktails. Nutmeg & Clove, founded in 2014 by Colin Chia, has helped shape Singapore’s cocktail scene over the past decade.

These achievements highlight how Southeast Asian bars are standing out by turning local culinary heritage into innovative drink experiences. Their high rankings prove that the region’s mixologists are influencing global bar culture.
