The Lang Biang mountain near Da Lat is famous for its beautiful hikes. A stray dog called Vang has become a friendly guide for many visitors, making the walk even more special.
Vang is about four years old and knows the Lang Biang route very well. He often appears on his own, waits for groups, and leads them up the steep path to the summit. Hikers such as Linh Huynh and Nguyen Minh Phong have seen Vang pause, wait, and guide their parties.
Hikers give Vang food as a thank‑you. Phong created a Google Maps listing for Vang, but it was removed after an app glitch.
Local guides say Vang belongs to a resident near the tourist area and he waits every morning, rain or shine, to help hikers. The trail is popular for day hikes and overnight trips, is best from November to April, and has some steep sections. It also has other dog guides, the most known being a black one.
