During a recent working session, Vietnamese Ambassador Bui Le Thai told the university’s rector that Vietnam is accelerating its shift toward a growth model driven by science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. He asked MATE to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese partners in biotechnology, climate‑resilient crop breeding, agricultural product processing, sustainable aquaculture, smart agriculture and AI.
MATE’s rector, Prof. Dr. Csaba Gyuricza, replied that the university is ready to host Vietnamese scientists for research activities and to develop training programmes tailored to Vietnam’s needs. He also highlighted existing partnerships with Vietnamese universities and expressed interest in expanding joint training, research and technology transfer.
Currently 51 Vietnamese students are studying at MATE at various levels, from undergraduate to doctoral programmes. These students are enrolled in programmes ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels.
These steps show how Vietnam is turning to international expertise to accelerate its science‑driven development. For students and researchers, the cooperation opens new opportunities for study, training and joint projects in modern agriculture.
