Traffic police in Ho Chi Minh City have booked several ride‑hailing drivers who were driving after drinking. The news is important because it shows a real danger for anyone using these services.
The police found that the drivers had blood‑alcohol levels above 0.4 mg per litre of breath, which is the highest violation category. Drivers with a BAC over 0.4 mg/L face fines of VND8‑10 million and a licence suspension of 22‑24 months.
Driving after drinking creates serious accident risks and can endanger passengers and other road users. This behaviour also damages public trust in ride‑hailing services and harms the industry’s reputation.
Police advise residents to choose safe transportation after drinking and to refuse a ride if a driver appears drunk. Following this advice helps protect passengers and rebuild confidence in ride‑hailing.
