Twelve elderly couples celebrated their silver and golden wedding anniversaries together at their ancestral home in Lang Son Province on October 18, 2026. The event gathered almost a hundred children and grandchildren, making it a vivid picture of family unity.

Thanh said the younger generation planned the celebration in a family group chat and chose to honor women on Vietnamese Women’s Day. Nearly 100 children and grandchildren organized everything, from printing backdrops to cooking the banquet.

The ancestral home, renovated from the parents’ former house, serves as the gathering place for death anniversaries, Tet, and other important family occasions. During the ceremony the couples presented flowers, poured wine, and cut a cake. Women wore traditional ao dai while men wore formal shirts.

This celebration shows how a single family event can reinforce cultural values, strengthen bonds between generations, and highlight the important role of women in Vietnamese families. The unity seen on that day is a lasting lesson for all.
