A representative named Phuong confirmed on Oct. 21 that the family‑run Thanh Binh eatery on Le Thanh Ton Street will close after opening in 1984. The restaurant is loved by many locals, so the news is important to understand.
The owner plans to lease out the premises because there are no family members to carry on the business. This lack of a successor makes it impossible to keep the family restaurant open.
Since 1984, the eatery offered around 50 Vietnamese dishes priced between VND100,000 and VND200,000. The eatery maintains a Google rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on nearly 300 reviews. News of the closure prompted longtime patrons to return for a final meal and express sadness on social media, and the closure marks another departure of a long‑running family food business after a similar 50‑year stall closed in May 2025.
The key reason for the shutdown is that no family members can take over the business. This ends a 42‑year family‑run restaurant that many people in Ho Chi Minh City cherished.
