Apple will launch the iPhone Duo on October 23. The company is limiting walk‑in sales, so you need to know if you can buy the phone in a store or must reserve it first.
Apple said limited walk‑in stock will be in its stores on launch day in the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Selected Apple Stores in Italy will also have some stock.
Apple confirmed customers in several countries will be unable to buy the iPhone Duo without a reservation because pre‑orders are exceptionally strong. Walk‑in purchases will not be available on launch day in France, mainland China, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. In these markets, customers must reserve online and choose a time slot for store pickup.
Apple expects the available inventory to sell out quickly on launch day due to high preorder demand. The company has previously restricted walk‑in purchases during product launches to manage customer traffic and discourage scalping.
If you live in a country with walk‑in stock, you may try the store on October 23, but the amount will be small. In most other countries you must reserve the iPhone Duo online before you can collect it.
