Around 4 p.m. a woman fell into difficulty near an observation tower by the main dam in Xuan Huong‑Da Lat Ward. The water there is about 3‑4 m deep. This incident shows why we must stay alert near lakes.

An American tourist named Laszlo, about 50 years old, was nearby. He swam more than 20 m from the bank and brought the woman back to shore in about two minutes.

After the rescue the woman was taken for emergency treatment and is now safe. Laszlo is on vacation in Da Lat and will be thanked by the lake’s tourist area management board and local authorities.

Tuyen Lam Lake is a national tourist area about 7 km south of central Da Lat, covering around 320 hectares. The story reminds us that quick, decisive action and basic swimming skill can save a life.
