Vietnamese model Mai Anh has just won a big international contest. Her victory is important for Vietnam’s fashion and cultural image.
Mai Anh won Supermodel International 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, becoming the third Vietnamese contestant to claim the title. She also received the Best Fashion Editorial award for her fashion photo series.
During the competition she wore the traditional Vietnamese ao dai and showcased Lanh My A silk, promoting Vietnamese culture to the world. Vietnam previously won the title twice, in 2018 with Duong Nguyen Kha Trang and in 2022 with Bui Quynh Hoa. Mai Anh is a professional model and catwalk coach and holds a business administration degree from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.
Mai Anh’s win shows how one person can raise national pride and put Vietnamese fashion on the global stage. It reminds us that cultural symbols like the ao dai can gain worldwide attention through success in international events.
