Tourist falls into hole in Da Lat: Why careful planning matters
Source: Vnexpress
Early on 5:45 am, a Malaysian tourist named G.S.W. fell into a deep hole while hiking in the Hon Bo mountain area of Da Lat. The story shows why careful planning is important for anyone who walks in unknown mountains.
The hole was about 70 cm wide and 10 metres deep, part of an abandoned mining site. G.S.W. became trapped and her friends could not pull her out, so local authorities launched an emergency rescue operation.
Rescuers reached the hole and freed her at about 7:15 am. She was taken to Lam Dong General Hospital with a right‑ankle injury and received first aid.
Hon Bo Mountain is a popular spot for hiking, cloud hunting and photography, visited by locals and tourists. Authorities warn that spontaneous hiking and sightseeing can be risky for people who do not know the terrain, and they advise visitors to be careful and avoid hiking alone in unfamiliar locations.
