Tan Dinh’s pink church is now a famous Instagram spot, and the whole area is becoming a hot place for foreign tourists and local shops. Learn why a single building can change a whole neighbourhood.
According to Time Out magazine, Tan Dinh was ranked 12th on its 2026 list of the world’s 40 coolest neighbourhoods, the only Vietnamese entry. The pink church is an Instagram favourite that draws international visitors. Tourists Aisyah, Carlie and Kane said they discovered Tan Dinh through Instagram, TikTok and ChatGPT and planned full‑day itineraries to see the church, the market and nearby cafés.
Nearby businesses are seeing more customers. Sense Tea café, which opened in June 2026, added windows that look over the pink church so visitors can take photos. Owner Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said Ma Oi beef noodle soup restaurant’s daily sales rose from about 50 bowls to 70‑80 bowls after the church became widely known. Le Quang Thien, deputy director of the Tan Dinh Ward Public Service Provision Center, noted that Tan Dinh Market, celebrating its 100th anniversary in July, added murals, arches and water stations and is thinking about regular discount campaigns to attract shoppers.
The pink church’s social‑media fame is turning Tan Dinh into a tourist hotspot and helping cafés, restaurants and the market grow. This shows how one popular landmark can boost a whole neighbourhood’s economy.
