Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Hanoi for an official visit. The trip matters because it can boost trade, technology and cultural links between Poland and Vietnam.
The visit is Tusk’s second as Polish Prime Minister, 16 years after his first. Poland was among the first European countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1950, and the visit is politically, diplomatically and economically significant, marking Vietnam as a priority Indo‑Pacific partner for Poland.
Two‑way trade reached $3.94 billion in 2025, up 14.8% from 2024, and exceeded $2.6 billion in the first seven months of 2026, up 17% year on year. The two sides will focus on economics, trade, investment, science, technology, education, tourism, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and green technologies.
Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski restored important Vietnamese heritage sites; a statue in Hoi An honors him, and Tusk visited the statue on Oct 24. This shows how cultural cooperation adds depth to the growing partnership.
