The first foldable iPhone has attracted intense attention not only for its novelty but also for a worrying durability issue. Understanding the reported screen problems can help potential buyers decide if the device meets their expectations.

Reports indicate that cracked inner displays appear within hours of use across several countries. Multiple users have posted images showing cracks along the centre of the inner foldable display, suggesting a recurring pattern.

The cracks are linked to a suspected hinge weakness. A durability test that damaged the same area of the screen has highlighted this possible structural flaw, raising doubts about the long‑term reliability of the hinge mechanism.

Because of the damage reports, some customers are canceling their orders and openly questioning whether to buy the device. Others are weighing the cost of AppleCare+ coverage as a safeguard against unexpected screen failure.

No independent statistics have been published, but the frequency of reported failures appears higher than for other foldable smartphones. This perception adds to consumer scepticism and may affect overall confidence in the product.
