A new iPhone Duo broke its screen after only a few hours. This story shows what could happen to people who buy the phone.

The owner pre‑ordered a 512 GB iPhone Duo for $2,199 through Verizon on October 16. About 180 minutes after opening the phone, the inner folding display stopped working.

Apple said the phone showed signs of being dropped and refused warranty coverage. Apple suggested the buyer buy a protection plan retroactively and then make a claim.

Technology site 9to5Mac reported roughly ten separate cases of early display failures. Reddit users have also shared similar stories, raising concerns about the phone’s durability.
