The new Long Thanh International Airport will open soon. Travelers should know how the city plans to make the road trip to the airport faster and more reliable.
The ACV, a 95.4% state‑owned joint‑stock company, wants priority lanes for airport buses and shuttles on main roads. Most first‑phase passengers will come from Ho Chi Minh City, and today the only link is the road network. The HCMC‑Long Thanh‑Dau Giay Expressway and Highways 1 and 51 often have traffic jams.
The ACV is studying traffic plans that will expand high‑capacity public transport, connect different transport modes, and control traffic before it reaches crowded areas. A key plan is to run direct premium bus services between Tan Son Nhat Airport and Long Thanh Airport. Thirteen routes are being studied, and each bus will stop only at major transit hubs to keep travel time short.
If the priority lanes and premium buses are built, passengers from Ho Chi Minh City should reach Long Thanh Airport faster and with less risk of delay. These changes aim to give travelers a smoother, more reliable connection to the new airport.
