Thung Nham Bird Park is the biggest natural bird park in northern Vietnam. It spreads over more than 300 hectares, making it a special place for nature lovers and photographers.
The park is home to about 50,000 birds from 46 different species. Both migratory and resident birds live there, and the rare great hornbill (Buceros bicornis) is also present, a species listed in Vietnam’s Red Data Book.
Visitors travel by boat through a unique cave system, including But Cave, and can see birds up close. The park also has primeval forests, a year‑round flower island and tropical gardens, adding to its natural beauty.
The best time to visit is the breeding season, from August to April, when birds return to their nests. This period lets visitors watch many birds and enjoy the park’s peaceful atmosphere.
