How Numbeo Calculates City Safety Scores
Cách Numbeo tính điểm an toàn cho các thành phố

Numbeo publishes safety rankings for cities around the world. Knowing how these scores are made can help travelers and people who may move to a new city.
Numbeo’s safety index includes 406 cities worldwide. It uses answers from website users about safety in daylight and at night, theft, robbery, physical attacks and other crimes.
Higher scores mean people feel safer. Scores above 80 are called very low crime (very high safety). Scores from 60 to 80 are low crime (high safety). Scores from 40 to 60 are moderate, 20 to 40 are high crime (low safety), and 20 or below are very high crime (very low safety).
Chiang Mai scored 78.1 out of 100, ranking first in Southeast Asia in the continuously updated table on Oct. 31. The city received very high safety ratings for walking alone, scoring 92.87 during the day and 81.09 at night.
Understanding how Numbeo builds its safety index helps you decide how much to trust the numbers when you plan a trip or think about moving. The method relies on many user opinions, so the scores show perceived safety, not official crime statistics.
