Coco Fwens, a coconut‑shake shop in Serangoon, spent about SGD6,000 on promotions from food bloggers and a Telegram group. The owner, Pradeep Pannirselvam, 39, says the result was almost zero response, a warning for small businesses.
Before the spend, the promoters promised impressive exposure, but sales stayed low. Some days the shop sold only four cups of shake. The shop opened in March and offers Original, Oreo and Mango coconut shakes and Fizzy Coconut Coolers, yet good product alone did not bring steady customers.
Pradeep now tries other ways to get customers. He sells drinks through Shopee livestreams, uses digital vouchers, and looks for product collaborations with other local businesses. He also goes door‑to‑door with flyers, runs live drink stations and offers bulk‑order services.
He keeps Coco Fwens open every day, even when no customers come, hoping to survive and keep repeat buyers. He says staying open helps the shop stay alive and builds loyalty.
