According to Chinese news site Sohu, on Nov. 1 a mechanical failure stopped the flying‑chair ride at Guose Tianxiang resort in Chengdu. Sina reported that the ride stopped suddenly, leaving several visitors hanging in the air.
A resort staff member told the media on Nov. 2, and China news site 163 reported, that strong wind gusts triggered the ride’s safety mechanism, which automatically shut down the operating system. This safety feature is meant to stop the ride when dangerous wind appears.
Visitors said they were left hanging for about 30 minutes before staff rescued them safely. The guests also said the resort did not refund their tickets, but gave each person one cup of bubble tea as compensation.
The resort said it inspected all equipment after the incident and reopened the flying‑chair ride on Nov. 2. This quick inspection and restart show the resort’s effort to keep the ride safe for future visitors.
