Vietnam’s tourism is growing fast, and the rise of European visitors is especially important. This article explains why the increase matters for the country’s tourism goals and its economy.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Vietnam attracted 19.5 million international tourists from January to October, which is 13.8 percent more than the same period last year. The same source says that tourism has reached about 78 percent of the full‑year target of 25 million visitors. Asia stayed the biggest source market, providing nearly 75 percent of arrivals, or about 14.6 million visitors.
European arrivals grew by more than 51 percent, making Europe the fastest‑growing source market, the authority reported. The rise is linked to the peak travel season, stable security, more direct flights and easier visa rules.
The strong European growth helps Vietnam move closer to its goal of 25 million visitors and can create more jobs and income. It shows how tourism can support the country’s economy.
