Samsung’s next flagship line, the Galaxy S27 series, is set to launch in the coming months. Knowing which processor each model uses helps you decide which phone will meet your performance expectations.

According to data from the NBD import‑export database, spotted by Notebookcheck, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, whereas the Galaxy S27 Ultra should receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The leak refers to international dual‑SIM variants, typically sold in European markets, while U.S. models may use different chips.

The two Snapdragon versions differ in CPU, GPU and NPU performance, which influences graphics‑intensive apps, AI tasks and video recording. This means demanding games or AI‑driven features will run smoother on the Ultra.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is rumored to support 8K video at 60 fps and 4K slow‑motion at 240 fps. By contrast, the standard 8 Elite Gen 6 is limited to 8K at 30 fps and 4K slow‑motion at 120 fps, so the Ultra can capture higher‑quality footage.

Because of these differences, Samsung creates a clear performance hierarchy: the Ultra model offers higher processing power and superior video capabilities, while the Pro still delivers flagship‑level speed but with lower maximum specs. Buyers who prioritize top‑tier gaming or professional‑grade video may prefer the Ultra, whereas those satisfied with solid performance at a lower price might choose the Pro.

In short, the Ultra’s Extreme Snapdragon gives it a clear edge in graphics, AI and video, while the Pro’s standard chip still offers strong performance but with lower limits. Understanding this hierarchy can guide you toward the model that best fits your needs.
