The inaugural World’s Best Hospitals & Clinics for Medical Tourism ranking was compiled by Newsweek and Statista. It lists 295 hospitals and clinics in 13 countries, so readers can see which facilities are most praised worldwide.
Five‑airplane symbols show a hospital is at least in the 80th percentile for overall performance and peer recommendations. Four symbols mean the hospital is between the 55th and 80th percentile in either measure. All other ranked hospitals receive three symbols.
More than 25,000 medical institutions worldwide were assessed, but only 295 hospitals and clinics from 13 countries were selected for the final ranking. The evaluation combined five factors: recommendations from medical professionals and medical tourism facilitators, relevant accreditations and certifications, patient reviews, services for international patients, and findings from Statista’s medical tourism facility survey.
The symbols let patients quickly see how a hospital compares worldwide. They are based on the five clear factors used by Newsweek and Statista.
