Khieu lives in Los Angeles but her hybrid role at Google needs her in the San Francisco office three days a week. She starts her day at 4:30 a.m., drives to LAX, catches a 6 a.m. flight, and after the 90‑minute flight takes public transport to reach the office by 8:30 a.m.
She maintains homes in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, so she can stay overnight in the Bay Area when she has several office days in a row. During the first half of 2026 she took between six and ten flights each month, almost every week.
Her TikTok video about the commute garnered nearly 700,000 views, drawing attention to her unusual travel routine. Frequent flying can cause problems; once a cancelled flight forced her to rent a car and drive about seven hours, arriving only 30 minutes before an 8 a.m. meeting.
Khieu joined Google in January after nearly two years at NetSuite and graduated from UCLA in 2023 with a sociology degree. She says the flights let her take a new job at Google without moving her personal life from Los Angeles.
