Vietnamese gamer Pham Anh Tu, known as FPLxChanh, has reached the top 16 at the FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026 in Seoul. This is the first time a Vietnamese player has moved into the knockout stage of this new world tournament.

Four players from Vietnam entered the championship, but after the group stage only Tu survived. He was the only Vietnamese player to qualify for the round of 16. The tournament uses a knockout format after the groups.

Earlier, Tu was runner‑up at the international Mid‑Season Playoffs in August, winning $20,000 and earning a direct spot at the world championship. The FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026 is the first world championship for the series and offers a total prize pool of $250,000.

His progress is called a significant milestone for Vietnamese esports. It shows that Vietnam can compete with the world’s best in a fast‑growing sport.
